R M A Kingswell

Whilst RFU president he received credit from the Irish rugby authorities and supporters for taking an England team to play in Dublin in 1973, after Wales and Scotland had refused to play their triple crown matches at Lansdowne Road, Dublin because of the Troubles.〔http://www.independent.ie/opinion/analysis/gone-from-bloody-sunday-to-playing-ball-at-croke-park-122108.html〕 This promoted the famous quote from the England captain, John Pullin following England's defeat in the match.

He was the son of Mr and Mrs JG Kingswell. He married Miss Mary Talbot Auty at Batley Congregational Church on 1 July 1936.〔Wakefield Express 4/7/1936〕
